David V Lasker
Founder & Principal
Founder David Lasker brings over 20 years of experience in architecture, hospitality design, and project planning, with a portfolio that spans ground-up construction of modern high-rises to the sensitive restoration of historic luxury hotels around the world. With projects located across Asia, the Hawaiian Islands, Europe and the Middle East, David contributes a global perspective to his designs.
After earning his professional degree in Architecture from the University of Southern California, David spent eight years as a Senior Project Designer at BAMO in San Francisco, where he led numerous high-profile international projects. He became a licensed architect and went on to establish Paletteur in 2012, a hospitality design firm based in San Francisco, followed by the founding of his namesake studio in Washington, D.C. in 2018.
David’s design philosophy is rooted in a deep respect for context. He seeks to distill the essence of a place—its materials, culture, and landscape—into modern environments that reflect the soul and history of their surroundings. By weaving together global expertise with local talent and artisans, David curates teams that transform architectural vision into richly layered, place-driven design. This approach is exemplified by his work on Capella Bangkok, honored as the #1 Hotel in the World by The World’s 50 Best Hotels in 2024.
Born and raised in Napa Valley, David discovered his love for architecture at the age of five, and continues to channel his passion for fine arts, design, and hospitality to shape immersive, world-class spaces.
